Financial Products allow you to see which particular Product(s) make up a specific revenue that has been posted. This is possible because each Product has its own unique code and is mapped directly to different Nominal Codes, therefore allowing you to see what aspects make up a posted revenue.
The ReRum system comes loaded with certain Products, however it is possible to add new ones as you see fit, depending on how you are recording revenue.
1 - Go to the Admin menu, hover over 'Finance', and select 'Products'.
2 - Here you will be shown a list of all the Products that have already been added to the system, noted with their unique Product Code, and also the Nominal Code that they relate to.
3 - Click 'Add Product'.
4 - Provide a name and a description of the Product you are adding.
5 - Click the drop-down arrow in the 'Category' text box to select either 'Sales' or 'Purchase'. The category shows whether this product is going to have either a positive (Sales), or negative (Purchase), effect on the revenue recorded.
6 - Enter a unique Product Code.
7 - You can leave the 'Description Template' text box empty.
8 - Click the blue magnifying glass next to the 'Nominal Code' text box to search for a Nominal Code to map the Product to.
9 - Once prompted with the list of Nominal Codes, click the desired one to associate it with the Product.
10 - Click 'Save Product' to save your inputs.
11 - The Product you have just saved will now be added to the list that were already on the system.
